Coming from the house of Qrontech, a Korean manufacturer, Lukas LK-7900 ACE dash camera for cars was launched in early 2013. It is a full HD dash cam that records at a resolution of 1080 pixels. The camera features a powerful CMOS based image sensor from Sony. You also get a UV filter that helps you capture crystal clear images. The product holds CE, FCC, and Q-mark certifications and comes with built-in GPS, speaker, microphone and 16 GB of memory (expandable up to 256 GB).
Multiple Recording Modes
Lukas LK-7900 ACE has four different recording modes: Driving, Motion Detection, Event, and Manual or Emergency. The Driving mode option allows you to record a video continuously for 3 minutes. The Motion Detection mode senses the motion and records a video 10 seconds prior and 20 seconds after the detected motion, i.e. a total of 30 seconds. Similarly, Event Recording also records a video of 30 seconds (10 seconds prior and 20 seconds post) but instead of motion, it is triggered when the G-sensor detects any impact or sudden changes. And last but not the least, the manual or emergency recording mode allows you to start recording at your own free will; it will record a video of 30 seconds, i.e. 10 seconds before and 20 seconds after you press the recording button.
Host of Smart Functions
This dashboard camera has all the smart functions that come with the LK-7900 Series. For example, highly sensitive GPS and G-Sensor, high clarity microphone, bright LED display, able voice guidance, and Smart Car DVR, to name a few. You can change the DVR settings from driving mode to parking mode as and when required.
Battery and Temperature Range
The LK-7900 dash camera is powered by a Super Capacitor battery for backup. So, you need not worry even if the external power source for the cam is accidentally cut off; the backup battery will help it save the recording.
The camera also has a very wide range of working temperature. It will continue to operate right from minus 20 degrees Celsius to plus 80 degrees Celsius i.e. -4° F to 176° F. And you can store it anywhere between minus 30 degrees Celsius to plus 90 degrees Celsius.
Wide Angle and Low Light Recording
The dashcam has a wide viewing angle of 135 degrees. It provides for clear recording even in low light situations since it is equipped with powerful auto exposure feature.
The Foolproof Auto Loop Feature
So, what happens when the camera memory is exhausted? Does it stop recording? Of course, No! It automatically starts looping through the old files on the SD card; you need not reformat the card or take any other action. Also, while rewriting the old files, it does not touch the event files irrespective of whether they were captured manually or triggered by motion detector.
